"Over the years, we've created some super-fun DIY Halloween decorations and projects—today, I'm sharing my favorites!"
A blanket of fog has officially settled over Seattle and I've pulled out my warmest, comfiest clothes in honor of the best time of year: autumn. I love October because it's the start of cozy season (this means I'm in full-on creative mode: tackling projects around the home, dreaming up new DIY ideas, and doing all the baking) and because of Halloween. Over the years, we've created some super-fun DIY Halloween decorations and projects—today, I'm sharing my favorites! Whether you need a pumpkin beverage dispenser (yeah, you read that right) for your weekend gathering or a last-minute costume for you or your pet, we've got you covered. Happy Halloween!
How to Make a Pumpkin Beverage Dispenser
I don't need any more reasons to drink an apple pie float, but if I did, this pumpkin beverage dispenser would do the trick. It's like pumpkin carving, but for adults. Pop out the top and add a place for a dispenser, fill it with your favorite drink (apple cider is also a wise choice), and enjoy.

How to Make Pin Curls Like Rosie the Riveter
My hair is often curly in photos, videos, and at events, and people often assume it's naturally that way. Surprise! It's not. I've been pin-curling my hair on a regular basis for years now, and just last Halloween, realized it was the perfect hairdo for a Rosie the Riveter costume. Try this look with a pair of Dunn Lumber coveralls, grab a drill (or a hammer or another tool of choice) and you've got a classic costume that'll hold up year after year.

How to Make a DIY Lightsaber
There's a reason you see a Jedi, a Storm Trooper, or Chewbacca out trick-or-treating every single year: it always, always works. If you're going for a Jedi look (or Sith if you're feeling the dark side), a lightsaber* is a nonnegotiable. Thankfully, you can build your own with materials you can pick up at your local Dunn Lumber. *Sound effects not included.

How to Make an Astronaut Costume
Calling all tiny astronauts! This is the perfect project for every kid (or adult) who’s ever dreamt of shooting into outer space. It's a great way to repurpose some recyclables (cracker or cereal boxes, water bottles, etc.) and only requires a few extra items that you can grab at your local Dunn Lumber. Liftoff in 3, 2, 1...

How to Make Gingerbread Pumpkin Bread
What happens when you bring pumpkin and ginger together? Magic, that's what. This gingerbread pumpkin bread goes quickly in our household. It tastes like fall, goes great with a cup of coffee and a page-turning book, and tastes just as good for breakfast as it does for dessert.

No matter how you choose to celebrate Halloween, these projects will help make it a holiday to remember. Have fun!
